« Multisites » radio communications
Just as it was possible in analog mode to extend the reach of communications with the repetition of signals with repeaters and antennas, the "Multisites" communications of numeric data takes place through the power of Internet. Indeed, in this type of communication, data are encrypted so they can travel throughout a territory through the Internet, be re-encoded by the reception site and broadcasted to the recipient of this transmission.
Thus, by using the Internet, it's possible to extend the communications sites over a large territory, much larger than what would repeat signals in "Duplex" mode. A user in zone A can communicate with one or more users present in zone B, located hundred miles of it. The management of the radio coverage is also much easier now in "Multisites" communications because each device, each having an unique identification number, can receive access to the territory they need withouh having to reprogram their radios.
Another advantage of "Multisites" communications is that radios are constantly listening to its Control Channel to know if its within the coverage area. When the signal becomes too weak, it will automatically search for a stronger signal. The radio did this automatically, so it needs no interventions of the users to change channels for the area where it's now located.
In short, digital "Multisites " communications, we increase the transmission speed, the coverage, flexibility and management infrastructure, while reducing user operations.
